Historical Membership Trends

  • 1982 (Founding): The club launched with over 360 Charter Members (Not Counting Spouses) at its first meeting. At the time, roughly 67% of members were directly employed by petroleum or mining companies.

  • Mid-1980s – 2010s: Membership remained stable but shifted toward a mix of industry professionals and "concerned citizens," including bankers, lawyers, and educators.

  • 2010s – 2020s: Like many social organizations, the club faced engagement challenges during the pandemic. Recent board notes indicated a decline in active board participation and a "talent gap" as older members retired.
